What else?
The ability to dance with confidence in the Ronda line, support the flow of the Ronda and respect the space of other dancers is assumed.
Invitation to dance is not a privilege of men. We are in 2025. A mere glance (mirada) does not mean one is ready to dance — only a mutual nod (cabaceo) gives us the discreet certainty that we are meeting up to dance. And this clarity gives us the freedom to look at each other in a kind way without having to dance.
Entering the dance floor requires permission of the leader to the left also by mutual nodding (cabaceo) or an inviting hand gesture by the leader. Merely looking (mirada) does not constitute an agreement — please be aware of this. If the couple doesn't want to give you space in front of them, respect that. There may be various reasons for this. Sneaking onto the dance floor from the side between other couples or pushing them aside is taboo.
When entering the dance floor, quickly move to the farthest free spot on the floor without disturbing other dancers, even if it's on the other side. This allows multiple couples to quickly flow onto the dance floor from the same entry point, avoiding long queues.
Minimize standing and chatting on the dance floor when the music starts. This is a relic from the early 20th century that we no longer need today.
Instead, we can listen to the music and tune in together with our partner. This is also a sign of respect for the DJ and other couples.
We don't need to see these as restrictive rules; we can consider them skills that characterize a way of interacting with one another that we generally perceive as respectful and that makes live easier and more enjoyable for everyone involved.
Registration opens 1 May
